DYS Celebrates the City’s 150th Anniversary with the Elevate Teen Summit

The City of Birmingham Mayor’s Office Division of Youth Services in celebration of the city’s 150th anniversary presents the Elevate Teen Summit. The goal of Teen Summit is to provide a safe space for teens to discuss issues facing their communities, brainstorm possible solutions and become ambassadors for change. The topics of discussion include education, workforce development, gun violence, and student mental health. Local Birmingham youth, experts from the Birmingham Promise, Birmingham Police Department, the Office of Peace and Policy and UAB will join the discussion.
The Elevate Teen Summit will be held on July 23, 2021 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Sloss Furnaces located at 20 32nd St N, Birmingham, AL 35222. Seating is limited for this in-person event and registration is required. Lunch will be provided for attendees. A day party will follow the conversation. This event is for teens only.
