The City of Birmingham Mayor’s Office Division of Youth Services’ (DYS) OPERATION STRAIGHT A’s is back recognizing Birmingham youth for academic achievement, perfect attendance, and good conduct while in school.

This quarter, we are recognizing those students with a special screening of the movie, BATMAN v. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE on Saturday, April 2, 2016. Birmingham youth who meet one of the criteria listed below, can earn a FREE movie pass for themselves and 2 guestsPlease note this film is rated PG-13 and is not suitable for individuals under the age of 13.  Parental discretion is advised.

Participation Criteria:

  • Increased a letter grade in 2 core academic subjects (excluding PE)
  • Perfect Attendance and Good Conduct grade for the most recent grading period, OR
  • Maintained a C average or Above for two consecutive grading periods

Beginning, Monday, March 21, 2016, parents/guardians can bring their child’s report card for the most recent grading period to DYS between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM to receive tickets.  No more than two submissions per household will be acceptedThe deadline to submit is Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 4:30 PM.  Tickets will be dispersed on a first-come, first-served basis until all tickets have been disseminated.

Individuals must bring report card to DYS.
